| He is the only Australian performer to have been voted Comedian of the Year at the ‘Australian Variety Artists Mo Awards’ on 12 occasions. The most recent being 28th August, 2007. In 1997 the Variety Club of Australia presented Martell their Heart Award for comedy. At the ACE awards on October 29 2003, Martell received Comedian of the Year and Entertainer of the Year.
On the Hilton Hotel circuit, he has appeared with Andy Williams, Shirley Bassey, Isaac Hayes, Wayne Newton and Shirley MacLaine. T.V. credits Don Lane, Bert Newton, Midday with Ray Martin and Hey Hey It’s Saturday. |
